About the opportunity:
This is an important role in an extremely busy and fast paced environment in which you will provide pragmatic, commercially focussed legal and compliance advice within the Holcim risk appetite.
The role will see you providing advice on a wide range of legal issues across a variety of areas including construction; transport; property; planning; commercial and corporate; procurement; safety; environmental; and insurance. The role will see you maintaining and delivering Holcim's compliance program to ensure integrity and transparency including assisting with policies, procedures and internal audits.

- Provision of timely, accurate, concise and appropriate advice for the commercial context in which it is being provided.
- Understanding HANZ's risk appetite and applying that knowledge in providing advice.
- Supporting other legal team members.
- Helping to drive continuous improvement of the legal knowledge centre.
- Researching new areas of law as required to ensure Holcim is ready for any change in the legislative environment.
- Writing brief advice and matter summaries under supervision of more senior lawyers.
- Maintaining and delivering to the approved compliance program to ensure adherence to all applicable legal, regulatory, and Group requirements, fostering integrity and transparency.
- Assisting with compliance policies, procedures and internal audits.
- Supporting the legal and compliance training plan, reporting requirements, communications, and follow-ups.
- Actively leading and promoting a safety culture at all times.
About you:
- LLB.
- BBus (highly valued).
- Certificate in Compliance and Risk Management or similar qualification (highly valued).
- Emerging Post Qualification Experience or an experienced paralegal with credible experience gained in a corporate environment or in a law firm.
- Proven experience in working autonomously against a set annual program.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong influencing skills.
- High level of legal and commercial acumen.
- Ability to work co-operatively in a team.
- Extensive Microsoft and Google Suite experience.
- Experience with an e billing platform.
- Experience with AI tools.
