The purpose of this role is to provide overall management of the headspace site, leading a multidisciplinary team of salaried staff and co-located service providers. The Centre Manager role is responsible for ensuring that all deliverables are met within standards and guidelines set by both headspace National and HealthWISE. Liaising with key stakeholders will be a key component of the role. Stakeholders will include service providers, consortia members, youth reference group members, other headspace staff, and community.

The centre manager will be required to develop and maintain positive and effective working relationships with a broad range of people and organisations. They must positively represent headspace to the public, community, government and other organisations.
- Assist the lead agency to identify, establish, improve and maintain administrative and operational processes.
- Develop, implement and coordinate project plans, and report regularly against key milestones.
- Shape and structure a working environment where all staff understand what is expected of them and how their efforts contribute to organisational success.
- Supervise and manage the performance of staff, conducting regular one on ones and weekly check ins. Monitor and act on any performance issues as they arise with professionalism in line with the fair work act and legislative requirements.
- Develop and implement financial strategies that will ensure budgetary targets and key performance indicators are met.
- Develop and facilitate events, projects, activities and programs that increase the mental health literacy of young people and the wider community.
Essential:
- Degree level qualifications in Business Management or a related discipline
- OR Degree level qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or Mental Health Nursing
- OR Diploma Business Administration (or equivalent) with relevant management experience in a primary health care setting.
- Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary teams
- Proven track record in building and maintaining effective working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to prioritise and manage multiple and competing work tasks and deliver to agreed deadlines.
Desirable
- Experience in the youth and/or mental health sector.
- A broad understanding of the primary health care system in Australia.
- A broad understanding of the challenges and experiences of young people in Australia, including specific community factors.
- Positive and collaborative team player.
- Ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions to problems.
