North Nowra Tavern is on the lookout for a hardworking and enthusiastic Kitchen Hand to join our back-of-house team. This role is ideal for someone keen to get practical experience in a busy, lively pub kitchen.
About the role
In this position, you will help keep the kitchen running smoothly by supporting our chefs with basic food preparation and general kitchen duties. You will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic workspace and assisting with day-to-day kitchen operations. No prior experience is required, as full training will be provided. Hours required for this role are expected to be 20-25 hours per week, with a mix of days, evenings and weekends.
Key responsibilities
- Assist chefs with simple food preparation tasks.
- Keep all kitchen areas clean and tidy, including dishwashing, sweeping, mopping, and wiping down surfaces.
- Clean and care for kitchen equipment to ensure it remains in good working order.
- Help receive, unpack, and store stock correctly, including labelling and rotation.
- Assist with rubbish, recycling, and general waste management.
- Follow all food safety and hygiene procedures as directed.
