About the Role
Reporting to the General Manager – Maintenance Execution, you will lead a team of warehouse and purchasing professionals, ensuring the efficient procurement, receipting, storage, inventory management, and distribution of parts and materials across the business.
You will be responsible for driving inventory accuracy, warehouse performance, purchasing compliance, supplier management, and continuous improvement initiatives that support operational reliability and business performance.
This role offers the opportunity to make a genuine impact by influencing supply chain strategy, improving processes, and enhancing service delivery across multiple operational sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a high-performing Warehouse and Purchasing team.
- Drive a strong safety culture and ensure all activities are completed in line with Bis' Zero Harm commitment.
- Manage purchasing activities to ensure timely, cost-effective procurement outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with purchasing protocols, supplier agreements, and inventory management processes.
- Oversee warehouse operations including receipting, storage, picking, dispatch, and returns.
- Drive inventory accuracy through effective stock control, cycle counting, stocktakes, and reconciliation processes.
- Manage rotable assets, inventory lifecycle activities, and replenishment strategies.
- Collaborate with operational leaders to ensure parts availability and support maintenance execution.
- Monitor and improve key performance measures including DIFOT, inventory accuracy, warehouse efficiency, and supplier performance.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimise supply chain performance and reduce operational costs.
About You:
You are a proven leader with strong commercial acumen and a passion for driving operational excellence. You enjoy building capability within teams, influencing stakeholders, and delivering practical solutions that improve business performance.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Extensive experience leading warehouse, inventory, purchasing, or supply chain functions.
- Strong knowledge of inventory control, warehouse operations, procurement processes, and supply chain best practice.
- Experience working within mining, heavy industry, maintenance, manufacturing, or similar operational environments.
- Proven ability to drive continuous improvement and implement process enhancements.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience working with ERP systems such as JD Edwards, SAP, Oracle, or similar.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to operational discipline and process compliance.
- Demonstrated leadership capability with a focus on coaching, mentoring, and team development.
