Work arrangement: Mostly remote, with occasional Melbourne-based client shoots
About the role
I’m looking for a freelance Social Media Content Creator to support my growing marketing consultancy, working primarily with service-based businesses including skin clinics, aesthetics, allied health and other expert-led brands.
This role would suit someone who has a strong visual eye, understands current social media trends and can confidently take content from idea through to filming, editing and delivery.
I’m particularly interested in someone who has experience with, or a strong understanding of, RedNote / Xiaohongshu (小红书) in addition to Instagram and TikTok.
There is potential for ongoing work and increased responsibility for the right person.
What you’ll be doing
- Researching trends across Instagram, TikTok and RedNote / Xiaohongshu
- Developing content ideas, hooks and concepts
- Filming short-form video and photography at client shoots
- Creating reels, carousels and stories
- Editing short-form video using CapCut, Adobe or similar
- Creating social graphics in Canva
- Writing natural, engaging captions
- Helping batch, organise and schedule content
- Adapting content for different platforms and audiences
- Supporting occasional content shoots across Melbourne
What I’m looking for
- Strong portfolio of social media, video or content creation work
- A genuine eye for aesthetics, composition and visual consistency
- Confident filming people, products and environments
- Strong short-form video editing skills
- Good understanding of Instagram & TikTok
- Experience with, or strong knowledge of, RedNote / Xiaohongshu
- Ability to identify trends without simply copying them
- Strong written communication skills
- Strong English communication skills
- Reliable, organised and able to work independently
- Comfortable working directly with clients in professional environments
Experience in beauty, aesthetics, wellness, allied health or other service-based industries would be highly regarded.
Requirements
- Based in Melbourne and available for occasional on-site shoots
- Own ABN and able to invoice as a contractor
- Previous social media/content creation experience
- Access to your own computer and editing software
- Comfortable learning and using supplied filming equipment
Camera and filming equipment can be provided for client shoots.

Pay: From $35.00 per hour
