About the role:
We have a great opportunity for someone who has a passion for companion animals and providing excellent customer service to our community. Our Companion Animal Liaison Officers are responsible for providing advice on animal management issues in response to external and internal enquiries, incoming and outgoing animal case management, and networking with the community and other rehoming organisations regarding the reclaim and rehoming of companion animals. The CALO role also provides general administrative support to the ACF team including extensive record keeping and assists with the development and implementation of public education programs.
Our Companion Animal Liaison Officers work very closely together looking after impounding and rehoming, along with providing crucial administration and customer service support to the team.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following key skills and attributes:
- Relevant qualifications and extensive job-related experience in an appropriate field.
- Ability to provide professional and accurate advice on related animal management issues to members of the public and other stakeholders in-line with current legislation and codes of practice.

Demonstrated high level of knowledge, compassion for and experience in dealing with companion animals.
- Ability to liaise and network effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a sometimes fast paced and reactive environment.
- Highly developed conflict resolution, negotiation and mediation skills.
- A commitment to community education.
- Effective analytical and innovative problem-solving skills.
- Advanced computer skills (using Microsoft Office Applications and relevant corporate software).
- Photographic skills (animal related will be highly regarded)
