Position Description:
Training Delivery Team
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Training Instructor to join our MPE Training Team within Training Delivery.
This role is responsible for delivering high-quality training across a range of MPE courses within the Defence environment.
About the Role
As a MPE Training Instructor, you will play a key role in:
- Delivering engaging and effective MPE training programs
- Leading and mentoring other instructors within the team
- Ensuring training aligns with Defence standards and operational requirements
- Contributing to continuous improvement of training content and delivery methods
Responsibilities
- Deliver MPE training programs across the Defence environment, ensuring high-quality, compliant, and engaging instruction
- Develop and maintain learning support materials, including courseware, presentations, and assessment tools aligned with Defence standards
- Set up, manage, and maintain the MPE training environment, including all associated equipment and systems required for delivery
- Troubleshoot and provide Level 1 support for MPE training suites, ensuring minimal disruption to training activities
- Support instructors in MPE training delivery, promoting best practice and ensuring alignment with Defence training requirements
- Support the wider Training Systems Team in training lifecycle activities.
Education. The Training Systems MPE Instructor - is to hold the TAE40122 - Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or be in the process of upgrading from the TAE40116.

Experience. The Training Systems MPE Instructor is to have the following demonstrated experience.
Previous Australian Defence Force (ADF) experience in ICT trade-based roles, with a strong understanding of deployed mission system complexities, as well as demonstrated knowledge of Defence Learning Management Plans and the development and delivery of Learning Support Materials.
A minimum of five years’ experience in ICT systems, encompassing Microsoft Server 2016 platforms (including Active Directory, SharePoint, Exchange, and Endpoint Configuration Manager), along with routing and switching, host-based security solutions (e.g. McAfee), virtualisation platforms (VMware, Hyper‑V), proxy services, chat servers, system logging, and network monitoring tools.
Desirable:
Education. Diploma or other qualifications in Adult Education and/or training related area of Study.
Experience. - Experience delivering Training within a Defence environment, including understanding LMPs, developing training materials, managing training systems, and supporting instructors. Strong understanding of training delivery standards, ability to provide technical support and guidance, and a good understanding of training design, development, and evaluation activities will be highly regarded. The ability to engage with Defence stakeholders to provide guidance and support on MPE training is also desirable.
Locality. Melbourne or Brisbane regions and be willing to travel frequently.
