About the role
James Technologies is looking for qualified Electrical & Instrumentation Tradesmen to join our hard rock mining teams in North Queensland.
We have upcoming opportunities for experienced mining electricians, as well as qualified electricians who are looking to make the move into mining.
- 15 days on / 13 days off
- FIFO options from Brisbane, Townsville or Cairns

- Ongoing support from the James Technologies team
Mobilisation: Late September 2026
You will work as part of an electrical team supporting hard rock mining and processing operations, carrying out electrical project, maintenance and shutdown work.
Depending on your experience, duties may include:
- Electrical maintenance and fault finding
- Installation and modification work
- Industrial electrical work
- Mining electrical maintenance
- Plant and processing equipment
- Shutdown and project work
- Electrical testing and commissioning
- Working safely around HV and LV electrical systems
Essential:
- Queensland Electrical Mechanic / Electrical Fitter licence, or recognised equivalent
- Current Australian driver's licence
- Current LVR & CPR
- Strong commitment to safety
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Positive, reliable attitude
- Ability to successfully complete a mining medical / MMQ
- Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance
Mining experience is preferred, but we will consider qualified electricians who have the right skills, attitude and willingness to learn.
