The Opportunity
Bureau Veritas is seeking an experienced Surveillance Officer to join our Infrastructure team, supporting the delivery of the North East Link Project, one of Victoria's largest and most significant transport infrastructure projects.
This position is offered as an initial 6-month contract and will be primarily based across the Southern Region works package, overseeing a range of civil construction activities and ensuring compliance with project specifications, quality requirements, and applicable standards.
The role will be worked on an afternoon shift roster, with standard hours of 3:00pm to 11:00pm, noting that hours may be adjusted to meet project and operational requirements.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced surveillance professional looking to contribute to a landmark infrastructure project while working alongside a highly respected team of engineering and project delivery specialists.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake onsite surveillance and verification of civil construction works within the Southern Region of the North East Link Project.
- Verify contractor compliance with project specifications, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), approved drawings, and relevant Australian Standards.
- Maintain accurate site records, including surveillance reports, photographic evidence, and quality documentation.
- Monitor construction activities and identify, document, and escalate quality, compliance, or workmanship issues as required.
- Provide timely feedback and reporting to Project Managers, Engineers, contractors, and key project stakeholders.
- Support the successful delivery of the project by fostering strong working relationships and promoting quality outcomes across all site activities.
About You
- Demonstrated experience as a Surveillance Officer, Site Inspector, Quality Representative, or similar role on major civil or infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of civil construction activities, quality assurance processes, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and construction compliance requirements.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, project documentation, and relevant Australian Standards.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to produce clear and accurate surveillance reports.
- Experience on major transport infrastructure projects such as road, tunnel, or large-scale civil works will be highly regarded.
