We are currently seeking a full-time permanent staff member to join our HR Business Partner team based at our offices in Sunshine.
The HR Advisor is responsible for providing timely, professional, and strategic human resources advice, support, and consultation to managers and staff across Brimbank. This role delivers a broad range of HR services, including the management of employee relations cases and guidance on organisational structure, employment conditions, and best-practice recruitment, selection, and separation processes. In addition, the HR Advisor offers high-level advice, coaching, and support on all HR matters, delivering practical solutions that align with Council priorities and comply with relevant legislation, government policies, industrial awards, the enterprise agreement, and internal procedures
The role
Reporting to the Coordinator HR Business Partners, we are seeking a talented HR Advisor who can bring their expertise and leadership to:
- Provide practical HR advice and support to managers and employees across recruitment, performance management, employee relations and other people matters.
- Support people leaders by providing guidance on HR policies, procedures and best practice to help them effectively manage their teams.
- Contribute to HR initiatives and process improvements by assisting with projects, maintaining HR systems and using workforce data to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Deliver high-quality customer service by building positive relationships, responding to HR enquiries and ensuring compliance with employment legislation, policies and procedures.
To be considered you will have:
- Sound knowledge and proven ability to work within the parameters of contemporary human resources practices.
- Highly developed knowledge in job evaluation processes and use of job evaluation tools.
- Sound knowledge of and the ability to interpret local government terms and conditions of employment, including best practice recruitment and selection practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships and work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.
- Local government experience is desirable
