About the Opportunity
As a Sub Acute and Community Fire Safety Officer, you will assist the Gosford Fire Manager with ensuring that Fire Safety and Compliance issues across Sub Acute and Community Health Services, as well as providing holiday relief coverage for Fire Safety Managers at both Gosford and Wyong Hospitals are met and maintained.
This position plays a key role in conducting Fire Training and Fire/ Evacuation Exercises across the Central Coast Local Health District. In this role you will:

Assist with the coordination of Fire Safety Awareness, Orientation and Education Programs and Facilitate Evacuation Exercises for all Hospital and Community Staff.

Assist with overseeing maintenance of all fire equipment, for example, portable extinguishers, hose reels, hydrants, sprinkler systems, gas flood systems, automatic fire detector systems, fire panels and EWIS systems.

Notify relevant Service provider in regards to all Fire System faults (etc).

Ensure material resources are available and are effectively coordinated to meet the requirements of an effective Fire/Disaster Plan.

About You
We are looking for someone who has:
-
Completed a Fire Safety Officer (Health) Accreditation Course, with Fire and Rescue N.S.W. or equivalent in accordance with N.S.W. Health Department Circular No 2010/24; completed Module of Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment and Training(TAE40110 or equivalent); current NSW Drivers Licence.

Demonstrated experience in a similar role or experience in the Health Care or similar industry.

Demonstrated experience in assessment, implementation and evaluation of fire safety requirements.

Demonstrated high level communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to work effectively with people at all levels of the organisation.

Demonstrated ability to manage the development and implementation of emergency services strategies, programs, procedures and Training and the monitoring of its effectiveness.
