Blue Mountains Grammar School is seeking a reliable and flexible Casual Property Maintenance Team Member to support our Property Manager and Maintenance Team with the day-to-day operation and upkeep of the School’s buildings, facilities, and grounds, helping to create a safe, welcoming and well-maintained school environment.
Working in a unique Blue Mountains environment, this role will be based primarily at our Wentworth Falls campus, with occasional work also required at our Springwood campus. The role will involve a broad range of hands-on tasks, including general repairs, grounds maintenance, cleaning and presentation, moving equipment, and assisting with School events and activities. The nature and frequency of the work will vary depending on the School’s operational needs throughout the school year.
- Undertake general maintenance and repairs across School facilities
- Maintain gardens, grounds, and outdoor areas, including basic landscaping and groundskeeping
- Assist with cleaning and presentation of buildings, facilities, and outdoor areas when required
- Assist with the set-up, pack-down, and operational requirements of School events, performances, and activities
- Safely operate School vehicles, machinery, and equipment (where appropriately licensed)
- Identify and respond promptly to maintenance issues, hazards, and facilities requests
- Assist with site security and securing School facilities as required
- Work safely and in accordance with School policies and WHS requirements
- Fast learner and able to assist with a wide range of tasks
- Proactive and willing to take initiative
- Strong attention to detail
- Good communication skills, and able to interact positively and professionally with staff, students, contractors and visitors
- Previous experience in a similar hands-on role
- Current Australian driver’s licence, and the ability to drive manual vehicles
- Basic computer literacy
- Good understanding of WHS and safe work practices
- Current NSW Working with Children Check, or ability to obtain one
- Full Australian working rights
Relevant trade qualifications, licences, industry training, experience operating maintenance equipment, and/or a current First Aid certificate would also be advantageous.
