Job Summary
The Financial Analyst is responsible for analysing financial data, preparing reports and forecasts, monitoring business performance, and providing insights to support strategic and operational decision-making. The role works closely with finance, accounting, and business teams to identify trends, assess financial performance, and improve financial planning.
Key Responsibilities
Analyse financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and business performance data.
Prepare regular financial reports, management reports, and performance dashboards.
Develop financial models, forecasts, budgets, and scenario analyses.
Monitor revenue, expenses, cash flow, profitability, and key financial metrics.
Identify financial trends, risks, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
Conduct variance analysis and explain significant differences between actual and budgeted results.
Support annual budgeting and financial planning processes.
Provide financial insights and recommendations to management and stakeholders.
Assist with business cases, investment analysis, and financial evaluations.
Maintain accurate financial models, databases, and reporting tools.
Collaborate with accounting and other departments to ensure financial information is accurate and timely.
Ensure financial analysis and reporting comply with relevant Australian accounting and regulatory requirements.
Perform ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as required.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related discipline.
Previous experience in financial analysis, management accounting, FP&A, or a similar role.
Strong knowledge of financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; experience with financial reporting or BI tools is advantageous.
Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Pay: $82,000.00 per year
