Casual Medical Receptionist – Melbourne CBD
Immediate start | Casual with potential for part-time
We are a busy, well-established general practice in the heart of Melbourne CBD, and we're looking for a warm, reliable and organised Medical Receptionist to join our front-of-house team on a casual basis.
About the Role
You'll be the first point of contact for our patients — in person and on the phone — and a key part of keeping the clinic running smoothly each day.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Welcoming and assisting patients in a professional, friendly manner
- Managing incoming calls, appointment bookings and patient enquiries
- Processing billing, including Medicare and private payments
- General reception and administrative duties
- Supporting the Practice Manager and GPs with daily clinic operations
- Maintaining patient confidentiality and accurate records at all times
About You
You will thrive in this role if you are:
- Reliable, well organised and self-motivated
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Able to juggle multiple tasks and competing priorities with a calm, can-do approach
- Compassionate and respectful towards patients from all walks of life, including those experiencing mental health challenges or drug dependency
- A clear communicator with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
What Will Help You Stand Out
- At least 12 months' experience in medical reception, or a background in healthcare
- Experience with Best Practice practice management software
- A current CPR certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
Full training will be provided to the right candidate.
