About the Opportunity
Scone Hospital is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join our Emergency Department and become part of a supportive, close-knit team delivering high-quality care to the Upper Hunter community.

What You Will Be Doing
As a Registered Nurse within the Emergency Department, you will deliver safe, evidence-based and person-centred care to patients presenting with a wide variety of emergency conditions.
Working within your full scope of practice and supported by Enrolled Nurses, Assistants in Nursing, Student Nurses and an onsite Clinical Nurse Educator, you will:

Perform triage assessments and prioritise patient care using recognised emergency triage principles.

Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for patients presenting to the Emergency Department.

Provide treatment, coordinate admissions, facilitate transfers and support safe patient discharge.

Respond confidently to deteriorating patients and medical emergencies.

Collaborate closely with medical officers and the multidisciplinary team to achieve positive patient outcomes.

Provide clinical support to the inpatient ward and other hospital departments during periods of lower Emergency Department activity.

Maintain accurate clinical documentation while contributing to a safe, efficient and patient-focused clinical environment.
About you
We're looking for a confident and adaptable Registered Nurse who enjoys the variety and autonomy of rural emergency nursing and is committed to delivering exceptional patient care.
Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of 12 months' post-registration clinical experience, with demonstrated experience working within an Emergency Department. You will be passionate about providing high-quality care, thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Essential requirements:

Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.

Experience in Emergency Department nursing.

Advanced Life Support (ALS) knowledge and experience.

Experience with triage and Emergency Care Assessment and Treatment (ECAT) protocols.

The ability to effectively manage patient flow within a busy Emergency Department.

Excellent communication, clinical reasoning and decision-making skills.

A willingness to support other clinical areas within the facility when required.

A commitment to ongoing learning, professional development and delivering safe, patient-centred care.
