Senior Software Engineer (Software & Support)
Role summary
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will design, build, and maintain software systems and support delivery of reliable, well-documented solutions. You’ll lead technical decisions, mentor engineers, troubleshoot production issues, and improve performance, security, and maintainability.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement backend and/or full-stack features (APIs, services, integrations, data models).
- Own technical components end-to-end: requirements → design → development → testing → release.
- Troubleshoot complex issues in development and production; drive root-cause fixes.
- Improve reliability and quality through automated testing, code reviews, and observability.
- Optimize performance, scalability, and maintainability of existing systems.
- Contribute to architecture decisions and technical standards.
- Mentor teammates through code reviews, pairing, and guidance on best practices.
- Collaborate with stakeholders (support, product, QA, operations) to deliver fixes and enhancements.
- Maintain clear documentation for systems, APIs, and operational runbooks.
Required skills & experience
- 5+ years’ experience in software engineering (or equivalent).
- Strong proficiency in one or more of: C#, .NET, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python (select based on your stack).
- Experience building RESTful/JSON APIs and working with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
- Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
- Experience with version control (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Practical experience with testing (unit/integration) and debugging production issues.
- Working knowledge of cloud infrastructure and/or containerization (e.g., AWS/Azure, Docker/Kubernetes) is an advantage.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Experience with security best practices (authn/authz, OWASP, secrets management).
- Familiarity with monitoring/alerting tools (logs, metrics, tracing).
- Experience in software support/operations (incident response, postmortems).
- Experience with event-driven systems (queues, pub/sub) or background processing.
- Contribution to open-source or technical leadership roles.

Pay: $10,589.24 – $15,689.87 per month
