Waitstaff / Host – Tokyo Bird, Surry Hills
Tokyo Bird is a cocktail and whisky bar in the heart of Surry Hills, known for our Japanese-inspired drinks and one of Sydney’s best selections of Japanese whisky. We’re on the lookout for a waitstaff/host to join our team.
We want someone who’s passionate about hospitality, quick on their feet, and thrives in a busy, guest-focused environment. You’ll work closely with the venue manager and be a key part of delivering an excellent guest experience.
Your role will include:
- Greeting and hosting guests at the door
- Managing bookings and handling on-the-night changes
- Taking orders and processing payments
- Running food and drinks to tables
- Resetting and preparing tables between guests
- Supporting opening and closing procedures on the floor
What we’re looking for:
- Valid RSA
- Availability on Friday and Saturday nights
- Strong product knowledge of alcoholic beverages
- Confident carrying trays and serving drinks
- Comfortable engaging with guests and upselling
You’ll thrive in this role if you have:
- 2+ years’ experience in a fast-paced bar or restaurant
- Initiative and the ability to think two steps ahead
- A knack for multitasking and staying calm under pressure
