Motor Mechanic / Vehicle Inspector – Mobile & Workshop

We are looking for an experienced and reliable Motor Mechanic / Vehicle Inspector to join our team.
We have opportunities available for both Mobile and workshop based Vehicle Inspectors .
This is an ideal or a mechanic who enjoys vehicle inspections, diagnostics and customer interaction without spending every day carrying out major mechanical repairs.
Main Duties
- Carry out Queensland Roadworthy / Safety Certificate inspections
- Perform comprehensive pre-purchase vehicle inspections
- Inspect brakes, tyres, suspension, steering, lights and other safety components
- Carry out vehicle diagnostic checks
- Test vehicle batteries and charging systems
- Replace vehicle batteries
- Identify mechanical and safety defects
- Complete accurate inspection reports
- Take clear photos and document vehicle condition
- Explain inspection findings to customers
- Maintain a professional standard of customer service
Mobile Position
The mobile role involves travelling to customer locations to carry out roadworthy inspections, pre-purchase inspections, battery replacements and other vehicle inspection services.
A company vehicle will be provided for mobile inspections and work-related travel.
You should be comfortable working independently, managing your daily jobs and communicating directly with customers.
Workshop Position
The workshop-based role will include:
- Roadworthy / Safety Certificate inspections
- Pre-purchase inspections
- Vehicle condition assessments
- Battery testing and replacement
- Diagnostic checks
- General vehicle safety and mechanical inspections
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Is a qualified Motor Mechanic
- Has strong vehicle inspection and diagnostic skills
- Holds a current Australian driver's licence
- Has good attention to detail
- Can work independently
- Is reliable and punctual
- Has good communication and customer service skills
Queensland Approved Examiner accreditation is highly regarded.
Previous experience with Roadworthy / Safety Certificates, pre-purchase inspections, mobile mechanical services or battery replacement will be highly regarded.
