The Role
The General Manager Product Delivery is a key senior leadership role, responsible for the successful delivery of critical projects and continuous improvement initiatives amongst Product, Pricing, and Underwriting. This role combines strategic change management, cross functional collaboration and program management to deliver an ambitious program of work to materially and continuously improve the product offerings at Auto & General. The role will see you partner closely with the Chief Product Officer, as well as other senior and executive leaders, working particularly closely with Technology to deliver on mutually aligned deliverables, set out in the divisional roadmaps and strategies.
Key Responsibilities

Program Leadership - Lead and drive the strategic planning, execution, and successful delivery of technology-enabled products, ensuring alignment with business strategy and commercial outcomes.

Prioritisation & Governance - Establish and maintain robust prioritisation processes, governance frameworks, and strategic roadmaps for all product change initiatives, ensuring strategic alignment, compliance, and optimised resource utilisation.

Cross-Functional Delivery - Facilitate and lead complex, cross-functional initiatives by fostering seamless collaboration across Product, Technology, Sales & Service, Claims & Assessing, and other business divisions.

Quality Assurance - Drive efficient, high-quality project delivery by collaborating with Technology Delivery to establish best practices, ensure clear and aligned business requirements, and implement robust monitoring and continuous improvement processes to meet established timelines and budgets.

Optimisation & Improvement - Drive a culture of continuous improvement, leveraging data and feedback to refine processes, tools, and approaches for product change delivery.

Leadership & Development - Lead, develop, and manage teams and functions, focusing on building leadership, commercial acumen, customer focus, and digital innovation capabilities, while providing expert Project and Change Management coaching and consulting support to senior leaders.

Change Management - Effectively lead change management and manage a portfolio of AI and digitisation initiatives across their lifecycle, ensuring robust planning, stakeholder engagement, tracking, and governance, while role modelling a balanced approach that achieves outcomes and effectiveness through a positive, values-aligned culture.

Risk Management - Ensure robust risk management and governance throughout the Product Delivery function, balancing commercial, customer, and regulatory requirements, with a particular focus on risk in change, security protocols, and adherence to policies and regulations.
Qualifications & Experience
You are a strategic thinker with strong leadership experience and a proven track record of success. With a strong emphasis on performance, innovation, and excellence, you have successfully led teams to achieve commercial, operational, and project outcomes and possess expertise in design thinking, process engineering, and problem-solving.
Additionally, you possess the following:

10+ years of experience in the insurance or financial services industry, ideally within a product-focused role.
- Demonstrated accountability for large-scale program management, change management, and/or digital transformation initiatives.

Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders at an executive level.

Ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing, diverse, and engaged teams.

Demonstrated ability to think strategically, coupled with a deep understanding of business processes, customer needs, and market dynamics.
- Tertiary qualifications (Bachelor's or Post-graduate) in Business, Commerce, Data Science, Technology, or a related discipline are preferred.
