Wood Machinist (CNC) – Full Time, Permanent Intrim Group Pty Ltd
Picton, NSW. We are seeking an experienced Wood Machinist with advanced CNC machining capability to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis at our Picton manufacturing facility.
About the role
This role involves manufacturing high-quality timber mouldings and architectural products using CNC and specialised moulding machinery in a production environment.
Key responsibilities
- Operating and programming CNC woodworking machinery
- Setting up and running multi-head moulders and profiling machines (e.g. Weinig or equivalent)
- Tooling setup including cutter head configuration and knife changes
- Interpreting technical drawings, profiles, and production specifications
- Monitoring quality, tolerances, and production output
- Maintaining a safe and compliant work environment
Skills and experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Wood Machinist in a production environment
- Proven experience with CNC machining/programming (woodworking applications)
- Experience operating 4-sided moulders / spindle moulders / high-speed profiling machines
- Strong knowledge of timber species, machining tolerances, and finishes
- Ability to set up tooling and optimise machine performance
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Strong awareness of WHS requirements in a manufacturing environment

- Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 per year (depending on experience)
