About the role
CSBP Fertilisers is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Trainee Account Manager to join our team. Through this structured development program, you will build the agronomic capability, commercial judgement and customer focus needed to become an advice-led Account Manager.
As a Trainee Account Manager, you will work alongside our Agronomy and Field Research teams to build strong technical knowledge and practical experience. As you develop and demonstrate capability, you will progressively transition into customer-facing responsibilities, beginning with a small customer portfolio while continuing to develop the agronomic, commercial and relationship skills required to become an advice-led Account Manager.
What You'll Be Doing
Supporting CSBP's field research program through trial establishment, monitoring, harvesting, data collection and analysis.
Developing crop nutrition and agronomy knowledge by working alongside Account Managers, Agronomists and Field Research staff.
Building commercial, account management and customer relationship skills.
Learning how sound agronomic advice supports customer decision-making, product recommendations and sales outcomes.
Assisting customers with soil and plant tissue testing programs.
Learning and promoting CSBP's AgTech solutions, including DecipherAg and NUlogic.
Contributing to local sales plans, customer engagement activities and grower conversations under the guidance of experienced Account Managers and Agronomists, before progressing to manage a small customer book.
Working with operational teams, depots, customer service and laboratory staff to understand the full customer experience.
Participating in marketing initiatives, field days and industry events.
Developing the capability to manage grower relationships, take responsibility for a customer book and grow account value over time.
This role offers genuine exposure to regional agriculture and will involve:
Working across various regional locations throughout Western Australia.
Regular travel, including extended country trips during peak seasonal periods.
Hands-on field work, including some physical labour.
Working outdoors in varying seasonal conditions.
About You
Tertiary qualifications in Agricultural Science, Agribusiness or a related discipline are highly desirable.
Knowledge of WA agricultural systems.
A genuine interest in crop nutrition, agronomy and practical on-farm problem solving, with a clear motivation to build a career in sales, account management and customer relationship management.
An interest in advice-led selling, using technical knowledge and trusted relationships to create value for growers and the business.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and maintain interpersonal relationships
Problem-solving and planning capability.
Sound computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
