The Store on Eagle is a busy independent newsagency and convenience store located in Brisbane CBD. We are looking for a friendly, reliable casual retail assistant to join our team.
This is a varied, customer focused, hands-on-position suited to someone who enjoys customer service, can work efficiently and is comfortable taking initiative.
The successful applicants must be able to work Monday-Friday between the hours of 06:00- 17:00. No weekend work is required.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Providing friendly and professional customer service.
- Processing cash and EFTPOS transactions.
- Restocking shelves.
- Receiving, checking and putting away deliveries.
- Keeping the store clean, tidy and well organised.
- Opening and closing the store when required.
- Selling lotto tickets and checking tickets.
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and refunds efficiently.
- Other tasks instructed by store manager.
The ideal applicant will:
- Be reliable, punctual and comfortable early starts.
- Have a friendly and confident manner with customers.
- Have strong attention to detail and accurate cash-handling skills.
- Work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
- Be proactive in replenishing stock.
- Be comfortable with lifting stock.
- Have previous retail or customer service experience.
- Previous newsagency or lotto experience is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
- Be proactive in communicating with management about current store operations and any issues that arise.
Pay: $17.50 – $34.76 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 25.0 per week
