About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Plasterer — Wall & Ceiling Linings to join our team on a full-time basis in Townsville, Queensland.
The successful applicant will work on a range of commercial construction projects, including fit-outs, refurbishments and new building works. This role requires a skilled tradesperson with strong experience in wall and ceiling linings, plasterboard installation, suspended ceiling systems and commercial construction site requirements.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be responsible for:
- Reading and interpreting construction drawings, plans and specifications.
- Measuring, marking and cutting plasterboard, fibre cement sheeting, ceiling tiles and lining materials.
- Installing plasterboard wall linings, partitions, bulkheads and ceiling systems.
- Installing suspended ceilings, grid systems, acoustic ceiling tiles and associated framing.
- Fixing plasterboard, fibre cement, acoustic and composite wall linings to walls, ceilings and battens.
- Setting joints, internal and external angles, corner beads and trims.
- Applying compounds, tapes and finishing materials to achieve smooth, level surfaces.
- Installing fire-rated and acoustic wall and ceiling systems in accordance with project specifications.
- Carrying out patching, repairs and finishing works as required.
- Ensuring work is completed to a high standard and in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements.
- Working collaboratively with site supervisors, builders, subcontractors and other trades.
- Maintaining tools, equipment and a clean, safe work area.
Skills and Experience Required
Applicants must have:
- Trade qualification in plastering, wall and ceiling lining, or a closely related field; or at least 3 years of relevant trade experience.
- Demonstrated experience as a plasterer or wall and ceiling liner, preferably in commercial construction.
- Experience installing plasterboard walls, ceilings, suspended ceiling systems and associated framing.
- Ability to read and interpret plans, drawings and specifications.
- Strong understanding of commercial construction site procedures and workplace health and safety requirements.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality finishes.
- Current construction White Card.
- Own basic trade tools.
- Driver licence preferred.
