Join Bega Garnbirringu Health Service to provide outreach and support to people experiencing homelessness. Through regular patrols and engagement, you will connect clients with accommodation, housing and essential support services while respecting individual, cultural and lifestyle choices.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with Aboriginal people from diverse communities
- Good understanding of Aboriginal culture, family dynamics and the impacts of trauma
- Cross-cultural awareness and understanding of issues affecting Aboriginal communities
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and in crisis situations
- Confidence in managing challenging behaviours, including interactions with intoxicated clients
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Flexibility to work the hours required for the position
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Office are desirable
- Certificate II or higher in Community Services and a current First Aid Certificate are desirable
Successful applicants will be required to provide:
- Current Working with Children Check (WA)
- National Criminal History Check (Police Clearance) – valid within the last 3 months
- Current WA “C” Class Driver's Licence
