About the role
Bendtech is seeking a practical, improvement-focused Plant Engineer to join our team in Slacks Creek, QLD. You will work closely with production, maintenance and management to help ensure our plant, equipment and manufacturing processes operate safely, reliably and efficiently.
This is a hands-on role for an engineer who enjoys solving problems, delivering improvements and supporting a busy manufacturing environment.
Key responsibilities
· Monitor plant equipment, specifically including fibre laser cutting machines, and production processes, identifying opportunities to improve safety, quality, reliability, capacity and efficiency.
· Develop and implement maintenance, reliability and continuous-improvement initiatives that reduce downtime and waste.
· Investigate equipment and process failures, complete root-cause analysis and coordinate effective corrective and preventive actions.
· Support the selection, installation, commissioning and modification of plant, machinery and production systems.
· Use production and maintenance data to track performance and support sound engineering decisions.
· Provide technical guidance to production teams and meet Bendtech's Quality Management and work health and safety requirements.
Skills, qualifications and experience
· A bachelor's degree in mechanical, manufacturing, industrial, plant engineering or a related engineering field, or an equivalent combination of qualifications and relevant experience.
· A minimum of three years' relevant engineering experience.
· Experience in programming fibre laser cutting machines and extensive knowledge of their operation is essential.
· Strong analytical and practical problem-solving skills, with experience in process improvement, maintenance or reliability engineering.
· Experience in developing machine maintenance programs to prevent breakdowns
· The ability to read and prepare technical drawings, specifications and engineering documentation.
· Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with production teams, management, contractors and suppliers.
· Well-developed computer skills and confidence working with production, maintenance and engineering data.
Remuneration
The annual salary range is from $75,000 - $85,000.
