Primary objective
The Senior Property Officer role is within the Business team, responsible for delivery of LDC’s commercial property
transactions. Under the direction of the Executive Director Operations, the position will support LDC’s commercial property
transactions (including sales, leasing and facilities), to facilitate economic growth for the Northern Territory.
Context statement
The Land Development Corporation is a Government Business Division. LDC is responsible for delivering strategic land
throughout the Northern Territory.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide support and coordination activities for LDC’s tenancy and facility management services and sale transactions,
including the provision of practical advice and information to tenants and LDC management on property matters.
2. Review and manage LDC’s contractual agreement documentation.
3. Develop and maintain effective relationships with relevant agencies, real estate agents, developers and other key
stakeholders.
4. Prepare Cabinet submissions, Ministerial briefings and high-level correspondence involving complex property transaction
matters in a timely manner.
5. Mentor and support junior staff within the Team.
6. Under the direction of the Executive Director Operations and Chief Executive Officer, execute other reasonable duties
as required.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Experience in contract and legal processes and financial management including demonstrated ability to facilitate land
sales and leases with the private sector on commercial terms.
2. Proven ability to negotiate and deliver property dealings, including via engagement with relevant internal and external
stakeholders.
3. High level of interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and ability to negotiate, develop and maintain strong
working relationships with team members, other agencies, tenants and external services providers.
4. High level of organisation skills and proven ability to complete tasks with high quality results and meet tight and
conflicting deadlines.
5. Relevant personal attributes including an astute and sensitive approach to working in a complex and challenging business
environment, demonstrated drive and enthusiasm, commitment, self-motivations, willingness to take responsibility and
work collaboratively with other teams.
6. A current ‘C’ class Northern Territory Drivers Licence.
Desirable
1. Knowledge of legal processes pertaining to property transactions.
