Casual Position | From $36.81 per hour + Super (SCHADS Award Level 1, Pay Point 3)

Ardor Care is currently seeking a reliable, energetic and engaging male Disability Support Worker to support a 10-year-old boy in the Inala area.
This young participant enjoys being active and spending time outdoors, so we're looking for someone who is happy to get involved in sports, games, running around and other community activities. Building a positive, trusting relationship is an important part of this role.
The participant may display behaviours of concern, so we are looking for someone who is calm, patient and confident following Behaviour Support Plans and positive behaviour support strategies. Previous experience is highly regarded, but we also welcome applicants who are willing to learn.
Available Shifts
- Two weekday shifts each week
- 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm (3 hours per shift)
- Potential for an additional 4-hour Saturday shift for the right person
Please only apply if you can commit to these shifts consistently. There is also the opportunity to pick up additional hours with this participant and others.
About the Role
You will be supporting the participant both at home and in the community by:
- Encouraging participation in sports, outdoor activities and community outings
- Building confidence, independence and daily living skills
- Implementing Behaviour Support Plans and following support strategies
- Working collaboratively with the participant's family, therapists and other stakeholders
- Responding to behaviours in a safe, respectful and supportive manner
- Completing progress notes and incident reports accurately
What We're Looking For
- Active, energetic and enjoys working with children
- Calm, patient and confident in challenging situations
- Strong English communication skills
- Reliable, professional and able to build positive rapport
- Experience supporting children or implementing Behaviour Support Plans is highly regarded
- Understanding of the NDIS or willingness to learn
Essential Requirements
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current Blue Card (QLD Working with Children Check)
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance
- Right to work in Australia
