Senior Test Analyst

Join our dynamic Testing Department as a Senior Test Analyst within a collaborative Test Team based in Toowong. This team is pivotal in supporting the delivery of new and enhanced Auto & General products and services. You will contribute to our Testing Community of Practice, shaping testing techniques, processes, and guidelines. The role
As a Senior Test Analyst, you will be instrumental in ensuring the quality and integrity of our products. You will design, develop, and execute comprehensive tests, adhering to the Group Test Strategy. Your role involves active collaboration with cross-functional E2E Team members, defining acceptance criteria, estimating efforts, and identifying risks from concept to delivery. You will also provide valuable support and mentorship to Junior Test Analysts, uplifting their capabilities and advocating for quality across all delivery stages.

Support the delivery of new Auto & General products and Services, as well as enhancements of existing products.

Design, develop, and execute tests to meet requirements and deliver high quality products in accordance with the Group Test Strategy.

Contribute to the Testing Community of Practice by providing support and input into the testing techniques, processes, and guidelines.

Support Test Analysts through pairing, peer reviews, and guidance on testing techniques and practices, test planning, test design, traceability, executions, and risk identification.

Collaborate with E2E Team members such as Developers, PO, BA, SME, Automation Analysts, Test Analysts from concept to delivery for Acceptance Criteria, Estimates, test coverage, and risks.

Demonstrate and share testing skills and techniques to uplift testing capabilities.

Actively participate in stakeholder engagement and representation of testing requirements.

Provide out-of-hours support during Production Testing.

Advocate for quality and continuous improvements across testing and delivery.

Represent testing and contribute to all Ignite workshops (e.g., concept, planning, estimation).

Collaborate and pair with members of the E2E team to produce test estimates, assumptions, dependencies, and risks for each initiative.

Produce Test Plan/Test Strategy for projects within own team and projects with multiple application dependencies.

Upskill and learn the associated business rules, guidelines, and applications.

Plan and Design Test cases to ensure that requirements are met, considering positive, negative, and regression impacts.

Collaborate with Test Analyst, and Business SMEs to build and define regression suites and ensure they are maintained.

Execute tests using a variety of different testing techniques, identifying, raising, and retesting defects.

Deliver Test reporting such as Test Progress report, test summary report, defect reports.

Actively participate in Agile Ceremonies.

Adhere to Defect Management Process & root cause analysis.

Support Overnight and weekend deployments on a rotating roster.

Contribute to Community of Practice.

Support onboarding of new team members.

Contribute to A&G's commitment to adhering to the regulatory framework overseen by APRA.
What experience you'll bring

Minimum 5 years of experience as a Test Analyst.

Demonstrated experience in supporting Junior Test Analysts.

Demonstrated experience in creating test plans, test traceability matrix, test reports.

Experience in educating peers and stakeholders in different types of testing.

Understanding of software development methodologies including AGILE/Scrum/Kanban (agile testing).

Demonstrated use of testing techniques such as Risk Based testing, BDD, TDD.

Understanding of the testing pyramid.

Demonstrated high level of knowledge of test practices, tools, and techniques.

Demonstrated excellent communication skills, including with technical staff, end-users and management.

Demonstrated skills to coach, mentor, and pair with Test Analysts to uplift their capabilities.

Demonstrated skill in developing clear objectives and establishing work priorities and time frames.

Demonstrated sound skills in problem solving, time and resource management, and ability to work independently and with limited supervision.

Pragmatic and resilient to change.

Good understanding of Functional and Non-Functional quality attributes.

ISTQB Certified.
Location
This role can be based at our North Lakes, Kawana Waters, or Toowong offices. Our Toowong office is close to a variety of public transport and easy parking options, with excellent end of trip facilities (including secure bike storage and showers), outdoor spaces and plenty of modern collaborative areas to work and connect with colleagues. Conveniently based at Toowong Village tower with views of the mountains and the Brisbane River, our location is only 4 km from the city and provides access to retail, restaurants and other amenities.
