We are seeking an experienced Production Support Engineer to support business-critical telecommunications and enterprise applications. The role will be responsible for production operations, incident resolution, service/order troubleshooting, database support, root cause analysis and coordination across application, DevOps, network, provisioning and business teams.
The successful candidate will have strong experience working in SLA-driven production environments, combined with hands-on knowledge of Oracle/PostgreSQL databases, Linux and cloud platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide L2/L3 production support for business-critical applications and services.
- Investigate and resolve failed, pending or stuck transactions/orders across complex integrated systems.
- Manage production incidents, service requests and escalations in accordance with agreed SLAs.
- Perform root cause analysis for recurring incidents and work with engineering teams to implement permanent fixes.
- Coordinate across application support, DevOps, network, provisioning, billing and business teams during incident resolution.
- Monitor production environments and proactively identify performance, availability and capacity issues.
- Perform Oracle and PostgreSQL database administration, including health checks, backup/recovery, patching, upgrades and performance tuning.
- Support database replication, high availability, failover and disaster recovery activities.
- Perform database maintenance including reindexing, vacuuming, statistics collection, tablespace monitoring and log analysis.
- Support AWS-hosted workloads across services such as EC2, RDS, EBS, S3 and CloudWatch.
- Support environment refreshes across Development, Test and UAT environments.
- Identify opportunities to automate repetitive operational and validation activities.
- Prepare operational reports, KPI dashboards, RCA documentation and technical procedures.
- Participate in change, incident and problem management processes.
- Act as an escalation point for critical production issues and coordinate resolution with internal and external stakeholders.

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: From 80,001 to 90,000 AUD per annum plus Superannuation.
Pay: $80,001.00 – $100,000.00 per year
