This position forms part of a supportive and high-performing Operations & Waste team. The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining a high standard of work while supporting the day-to-day operations of the Resource Recovery Centre. A key focus of the role is providing excellent customer service and identifying opportunities for reuse and recycling, helping to divert valuable materials from landfill and promote sustainable waste management practices

About the role:
Provide customer service and guidance to residents and members of the public at the Resource Recovery Centre, assisting with traffic management and directing customers to the appropriate unloading areas to ensure materials are correctly sorted, maximising resource recovery and minimising landfill disposal.
You will:
- Participate in all operational functions of the Resource Recovery Centre and ensure the centre is professionally and efficiently run.
- Have a positive public image and maintain a standard of behaviour when dealing with residents and ratepayers that will bring credit to the team and Council

Other duties where required as directed by the Resource Recovery Centre Team Leader.

Promote a supportive and positive work culture to improve engagement and performance.

Ensure safe and proper work practices are adhered to in accordance with current procedures and policies along with any OH&S legislation and relevant industry standards.

Report any situation or activity or breach of policy or law which may give rise to a potential liability or abnormal cost for Council.

Other duties as directed within the skills and capabilities of a position at this level.
About you:

- Current Victorian Drivers Licence.

Current Working with Children Card
- Experience in the Waste Management Industry – Resource Recovery Operations or Relevant experience in a similar environment
- Current licences for excavator, Front end loader and forklift operation (Desirable)
