Reporting into the Senior Manager, Regulatory Breach Reporting, you will be a key member of the Enterprise Compliance team within Line 2, working closely with Line 1 and Group colleagues to ensure AustralianSuper manages its breach reporting obligations effectively and efficiently.
This role is pivotal in overseeing the escalation and reporting of regulatory incidents and breaches at AustralianSuper. Your responsibilities include conducting thorough assessments, providing oversight of, and constructively challenging, business colleagues, providing coaching and insights, and ensuring that potential regulatory breaches are promptly escalated, reported, and addressed. Success in this role requires experience in assessing evolving regulatory expectations, sound judgment, a deep understanding of superannuation, confidence in navigating ambiguity, and demonstrated expertise in breach reporting.
Key duties include but are not limited to:
- Tertiary degree in Business, Finance, Law or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years' experience in compliance, risk assurance, regulatory or advisory roles within financial services or consulting environments.
- Knowledge of the superannuation industry and relevant obligations preferred.
- Proven expertise in regulatory incident management, encompassing breach investigation and assessment according to ASIC Regulatory Guide 78 and APRA breach reporting standards.
- Strong analytical and reporting capability, with experience using tools such as Excel, Power BI, GRC to generate insights and identify trends.
- Excellent communication, facilitation and stakeholder management skills, with confidence engaging senior and cross functional audiences.
- Ability to work autonomously while coordinating delivery across multiple teams in fast paced operational environments.
- Solid knowledge of the superannuation industry and relevant obligations.
- Hold an accreditation in Risk Management from a recognised body like Risk Management Institute of Australasia (RMIA) or Governance Institute of Australia (GIA), or be willing to obtain one after joining AustralianSuper.
