Leading midwifery care in a regional community takes a particular kind of commitment — and YNLHN is looking for an experienced midwife ready to step into a leadership role that genuinely shapes outcomes for women, babies, and families across the Yorke Peninsula and Mid North.
Your Role in Our Midwifery Group Practice
As Associate Midwife Unit Manager within the Midwifery Group Practice (MGP), you will support the day-to-day operational and clinical leadership of the team, working closely with the Midwife Unit Manager to maintain safe, woman-centred continuity of care. This is a part-time, ongoing position based in a community where your work has direct and visible impact.
Provide clinical leadership and support to midwives within the MGP model, promoting continuity of carer principles
Assist in coordinating rostering, workload management, and operational workflow across the unit
Champion quality improvement and contribute to policy, procedure, and guideline review
Act as a key liaison between the MGP team, obstetric services, and broader multidisciplinary networks across Yorke and Northern LHN
What You Bring
Current registration as a Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Demonstrated experience in a Midwifery Group Practice or continuity of care model
Proven ability to support, mentor, and guide a midwifery team in a clinical setting
Sound understanding of the SA Health policy frameworks and standards relevant to maternity services
Strong communication and interpersonal skills suited to a regionally dispersed care environment
Experience in or readiness to contribute to quality and safety processes within a Local Health Network
