Who we are
The NSW Early Learning Commission (Commission) was established as the independent regulator for early childhood education and care (ECEC) in NSW on 1 December 2025 and is responsible for regulating more than 6,000 ECEC services across the state.
Our role is to ensure services meet high standards of safety, quality and compliance, through ongoing assessment, monitoring and enforcement of the National Law and Regulations.
The Commission places children at the centre of all decision-making, working to ensure they are safe, respected, and supported to thrive in high-quality early learning environments that promote their development, wellbeing and lifelong learning, in line with the paramountcy principle embedded in the National Law for the sector and the regulatory authority.
The Commission also drives continuous improvement across the sector through evidence-informed regulation and reform to strengthen community confidence in ECEC services.

About the role
As a Hub Coordinator, your leadership is key to guiding a team across designated operational areas and locations, to ensure early childhood education and care (ECEC) services operate high quality, safe and compliant environment for children. You will lead a field-based team who will ensure services meet regulatory standards and effectively implement the National Quality Framework to help keep children safe in high quality education and care.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead and support a team to undertake risk-based regulatory functions to ensure the quality and safety of ECEC services in NSW.
- Collaborate with other teams and operational leaders to strengthen workforce capability, effective deployment of resources to address risk and sector engagement.
- Contribute to policy development and continuous improvement by sharing insights from frontline regulatory practice.
- Drive consistency of practice by embedding regulatory guidance, policies and procedures across teams.
- Contribute positively to team culture, supporting your colleagues to feel safe, supported and encouraged in their role.

About you
- Passionate about the health, safety and wellbeing of children and committed to making a difference across ECEC services in NSW.
- Experience in the ECEC sector across one or more ECEC service types, including implementation of ECEC pedagogy and programs
- Have strong knowledge of the National Quality Framework and/or experience of direct service provision in the ECEC sector.
- Proven ability to lead and manage people in a regulatory environment.
- Strong decision-making skills and ability to prioritise in a risk-based setting.
- Excellent literacy and communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Experience engaging with stakeholders and navigating challenging situations.
- Ability to interpret and effectively apply regulatory frameworks.
Essential requirements of the role
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or demonstrated equivalent knowledge, skills and experience. Relevant discipline includes degree or diploma such as Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood Education, Diploma of Early Education and Care or another early childhood education qualification.
- A valid driver licence with an ability to travel as required.
- A valid Working with Children Check clearance for paid employment.
- Demonstrated understanding of and committed to the value of high quality, safe early childhood education and care.
