About the Role:
The Product Owner, Data and Integration Platforms will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering a dynamic portfolio of data and integration initiatives that enable Curtin’s strategic ambitions. This role combines product leadership, operational oversight and forward-thinking platform direction to ensure our data and integration services continue to evolve, perform and deliver meaningful value across the University.
As the key voice of the customer, you will turn complex stakeholder needs into a clear and prioritised product roadmap, guiding the end-to-end lifecycle of enterprise integration solutions, data ingestion pipelines and supporting tools. This is an exciting opportunity for a collaborative and outcomes-focused product leader to inspire innovation, strengthen ways of working and drive high-quality delivery across a critical enterprise platform environment. Through effective leadership, prioritisation and oversight, you will help shape trusted, future-ready data and integration services that support Curtin’s continued success.
Your responsibilities will include:

Delivery & Backlog Management
- Plan, prioritise and deliver data and integration initiatives aligned with DTS and University priorities, from discovery through to release.
- Manage the product backlog, competing priorities, risks, dependencies and blockers while collaborating with University teams, vendors and partners to deliver quality solutions and communicate progress.
Operational Support & Service Availability
- Ensure data and integration platforms remain available, stable and performant through effective monitoring, alerting, performance management and escalation practices.
- Use incident trends, operational metrics, runbooks and service management processes to proactively resolve issues and drive continuous improvement, resilience and SLA-aligned support.
Governance and Standards
- Maintain and improve data and integration standards, reusable patterns, API guidelines and shared components to promote consistency, reduce technical debt and accelerate delivery.
- Ensure platform deliverables comply with architecture, governance, security and delivery standards, supported by clear documentation, audit, risk and compliance practices.
Leadership and Culture
- Provide visible day-to-day leadership, setting clear expectations for delivery, professional conduct, accountability and team performance.
- Develop capability, career growth and resilience through coaching, mentoring, knowledge sharing and a collaborative, psychologically safe culture.
