About the opportunity:
This is a key role in which you will drive project performance to achieve tendered objectives and targets in a way that encourages continued business with head contractors in the construction / infrastructure industries and ensure the timely delivery of quality products and service that meet the expectations of our customers.
Further and detailed accountabilities are found in the Position Description which is available upon request and will include:
- Developing critical path and delivery programs for all project stakeholders whilst producing regular updates On-Time-In-Full.
- Ensuring timely completion and alignment with agreed quality outcomes.
- Adhering to and managing contract conditions, specifications and drawing production to limit Humes' exposure to potential risks and support our ability to comply with delivery obligations.
- In conjunction with Production, ensuring Bill of Materials (BOMs) & Material Masters reflect the final estimates to proactively encourage a reduction in Production Variance (PV).
- Monitoring project budgets in liaison with operational stakeholders to ensure spending is controlled to meet financial targets.
- Ensuring specialised, non-stock items for each allocated projects (e.g. moulds, reinforcing, cast in plates, etc.) are correctly detailed in the procurement process to ensure accurate and timely delivery to plan.
- Continuous improvement in tendering and quoting, incl. an active involvement in the development of new and innovative ways to improve the bottom line of the business.
About You:
- Qualifications in or a sound understanding of civil engineering principles.
- Experience in Precast, Concrete and/ or related industries i.e. Construction, Steel, heavy manufacturing will be advantageous.
- Credible experience in, supplying to, and/ or working alongside Tier One Contractors is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge including Quantity Surveying, Estimating and Tendering.
- Extensive project management experience.
- Ability to read drawings.
- A good understanding of the cost drivers of the business.
- Strong interpersonal / communication skills.
- In-depth knowledge of contractual matters and a high level of commercial awareness.
- Proactive approach to managing time, cost, quality and OH&S issues with outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
- Sound skills in Microsoft Office and SAP.
