About the opportunity
We are seeking a highly organised and motivated Research Assistant to support a dynamic research program based at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead Clinical School.
In this role, you will contribute to the development and execution of research activities, working closely with academic, clinical, and external stakeholders. You will play a key role in supporting grant applications, coordinating research processes, and ensuring high-quality data management and reporting.
This is an excellent opportunity for early-career research professional to build experience in a collaborative and research-intensive environment.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
contribute to the design and development of research protocols and support timely project delivery
provide advice on research processes, regulations, and governance frameworks
assist with data collection, analysis and reporting, ensuring accuracy and integrity of datasets
collaborate with researchers, clinicians, and external stakeholders to support research outcomes
manage research documentation, including publications and records management
coordinate reporting activities and ensure compliance with university systems and processes
support financial administration, including purchasing and invoice processing
contribute to a safe and compliant working environment.
You will demonstrate:
hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of training and experience (Neuroscience, Immunology, Molecular Biology or related)
possess technical wet-laboratory skills (examples may include cell culture, flow cytometry, molecular biology, immuno-phenotyping, and related skills).
experience developing and troubleshooting wet-lab protocols (assay development, optimisation of protocols).
have experience working in a research laboratory environment
have strong capability in record-keeping and managing research data
possess excellent organisational and problem‑solving skills
demonstrate strong attention to detail and compliance requirements
work collaboratively and contribute positively to a high‑performance team culture.

You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this employment to be eligible to apply. Visa sponsorship is not available for this appointment.
