Location: McCrae VIC 3938
Salary: Adult casual rates range from $33.50–$36.50 per hour, depending on skills, experience and classification under the Health Professionals and Support Services Award 2020 (MA000027). Junior employees (under 21 years of age) will be paid the applicable Award junior rate based on age and classification

About the Position
We are seeking a friendly, reliable and motivated Medical Receptionist to join our team in an ongoing casual role, averaging 15–20 hours per week, with additional hours available to cover staff leave when required.
We welcome applications from candidates at various stages of their careers. This role is particularly well suited to individuals seeking a long-term role in medical reception within a General Practice setting. Previous reception or customer service experience is highly regarded, while previous medical reception experience is advantageous but not essential.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Greeting patients and managing front desk enquiries
- Answering telephone calls and responding to patient enquiries
- Appointment scheduling and data entry using practice software
- Managing emails, scanning, filing and general administrative tasks
- Processing Medicare claims, EFTPOS transactions and receipting
- Maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming reception area
- Assisting with the smooth day-to-day operation of the clinic
- Liaising with healthcare professionals regarding appointments and correspondence
- Maintaining accurate patient records and documentation

- Competent computer skills, including Microsoft Office and web-based systems
- Ability to work in a busy environment and manage competing priorities
- Reliable, organised and punctual
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
Future Opportunity
This position is initially offered on a casual basis. For the right candidate, there may be an opportunity to transition to a permanent position in the future, subject to performance and clinic requirements.
