About the role
The Manager, Maintenance Excellence is responsible for improving the reliability, availability, compliance and operational performance of the Australia West mobile mining fleet, by applying Group asset standards to regional site conditions and driving disciplined short-term execution, defect elimination, asset health response and performance improvement.
The role supports the General Manager Maintenance Operations Australia West by providing a regional operational support function focused on the <6 month planning and execution horizon, while providing practical feedback and performance data to Group Asset Management.
In this role you will:
- Support Australia West operations and WA based Asset teams as required to deliver regional outcomes.
- Act as a conduit between Australia West site maintenance teams and Group Asset Management.
- Support site teams to focus on safety, maintenance execution, cost control and asset performance.
- Turn asset health and reliability data into clear action plans for site teams.
- Provide regional performance, condition and cost input to Group lifecycle planning, long-term fleet planning and capital decisions.
- Maintain regional fleet performance reporting and KPI dashboards.
- Drive practical improvement initiatives that lift availability, reduce cost, improve schedule compliance and increase planned work.
- Share lessons learned across Australia West sites and provide feedback to Group Asset Management where standards or support models can be improved.
- Improve fleet availability, reliability, component life and reduction in unplanned downtime.
- Govern Management of Change for equipment, systems, component changes and site operating condition changes.
- Develop strong working relationships with Operations, site maintenance teams, Group Asset Management, SMEs, Procurement, Supply Chain, OEMs and technical partners.
- Influence stakeholders to deliver agreed asset performance improvements, compliance outcomes and execution priorities.
About you
- Relevant tertiary qualification in engineering or mechanical trade qualifications with significant heavy mobile equipment experience.
- Minimum 15 years' experience in mining, mining services, heavy mobile equipment or resource sector maintenance environments.
- Demonstrated experience improving asset performance, reliability and maintenance execution across large mobile mining fleets.
- Strong understanding of reliability engineering, defect elimination, asset health response and maintenance execution principles.
- Advanced analytical and data interpretation capability, with the ability to convert data into site-executable actions.
- Sound understanding of compliance, Management of Change, statutory inspection discipline and operational risk management.
- Demonstrated success working across multiple operational sites and influencing site teams without direct line control.
- Proven leadership and people management skills.
- Commercial acumen and ability to negotiate commercially acceptable outcomes.
