Behind every successful project is a plan. Behind every great plan is a Senior Planner.
Ventia's Western Power contract continues to grow, and we're looking for an experienced Senior Planner to join our team in Forrestdale, WA.
This is a role for someone who enjoys bringing order to complexity. You'll be the person connecting the dots between crews, materials, permits, schedules and client requirements to make sure work is ready to go when it's needed.
You'll work closely with Project Managers, Supervisors and operational teams, helping to plan and coordinate customer connection and network projects across Western Power's network. No two days are quite the same, and there are plenty of moving parts to keep things interesting.
If you're someone who likes solving problems, staying a few steps ahead and seeing a well-executed plan come together, you'll fit right in. Plus, you'll join a supportive team with plenty of opportunities to grow your career within a business that's continuing to invest in Western Australia's energy future.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Senior Planner, you'll play a key role in the successful delivery of customer connection and infrastructure projects across Western Power's network. Working closely with Project Managers, Supervisors and field teams, you'll ensure work is planned, resourced and scheduled effectively to support safe and efficient delivery.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and scheduling customer connection and maintenance projects across the Western Power SWIS network.
- Coordinating labour, plant, materials and subcontractor requirements.
- Developing work forecasts and resource plans to support delivery targets.
- Managing permits and approvals and ensuring they are in place when required.
- Working closely with operational teams to optimise crew utilisation and minimise downtime.
- Monitoring progress, identifying potential scheduling risks and implementing solutions.
- Supporting and mentoring Planning Coordinators and other team members.
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the planning function.
- Continuously looking for ways to improve works delivery and client satisfaction.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for a planner who can balance the detail with the bigger picture. Someone who can build strong working relationships, think ahead and keep multiple priorities moving without losing sight of delivery outcomes.
What you’ll bring:
- Experience in project planning, scheduling or resource planning within infrastructure, utilities, construction or a similar environment.
- Strong planning, forecasting and organisational skills.
- The ability to work across multiple stakeholders and build effective working relationships.
- Experience using planning, scheduling and reporting systems, along with strong MS Office capability.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem solving.
- Experience within the utilities, electrical or distribution network sector and sound civil/underground knowledge will be highly regarded.
What's In It for You?
At Ventia, we know great people have options. That's why we focus on providing an environment where our teams can do their best work and continue developing their careers.
You'll enjoy:
- Flexible work arrangements
- Free on-site parking
- Career development opportunities across a national organisation
- A supportive and experienced leadership team
- Access to Fitness Passport and a range of employee benefits
- The opportunity to work on large projects that support critical infrastructure across Western Australia.
