Bread Social is a growing wholesale bakery, supplying great bread and baked goods to cafés, restaurants and customers across Northern NSW and up to Brisbane!
Behind every delivery is a team of drivers who keep things moving, and we're looking for someone to lead that team.
We're after a Logistics Supervisor / Head Driver who enjoys being hands-on, early mornings, and working with people and making sure the day runs smoothly. You'll be the person keeping our delivery team organised, our drivers supported and our deliveries moving safely and on time.
A majority of this position is on-the-road, starting & finishing at our Currumbin location.
What you'll be doing:
Leading the team
You'll be the go-to person for our delivery drivers, helping them do their best work and making sure everyone knows what's expected.
- Lead, coach and support the delivery team.
- Help train new drivers and support ongoing development.
- Run regular toolbox meetings and keep communication flowing.
- Support a positive, accountable and safety-focused team culture.
Keeping deliveries moving
- Oversee the daily delivery operation.
- Make sure deliveries are accurate, efficient and on time.
- Monitor routes and look for ways we can do things better.
- Troubleshoot delivery issues and help resolve customer concerns.
- Work closely with Production, Orders/Customer Service Team and Logistics Coordinator to keep everyone on the same page.
Rosters & planning
- Prepare and manage driver rosters.
- Plan leave and make sure we have the right coverage.
- Keep an eye on labour utilisation and help the team work efficiently.
Fleet maintenance, safety & compliance
- Keep an eye on vehicle utilisation and fleet performance.
- Work with the 2IC to make sure preventative maintenance of the fleet is kept on track.
- Promote safe driving and manual handling practices.
- Help ensure our drivers and vehicles meet the required safety and compliance standards.
About you
We're looking for someone who is organised, practical and good with people.
You might come from a transport, logistics or delivery background, or you may already be leading a team in a similar environment.
Most importantly, you're someone who:
- Leads by example and isn't afraid to get stuck in.
- Can keep calm when the morning doesn't quite go to plan.
- Communicates clearly and treats people with respect.
- Is good at solving problems and finding practical solutions.
- Takes safety seriously.
- Can balance people, customers and the needs of the operation.
Experience managing a multi-drop delivery team will be highly regarded.
The details:
- Full-time, salaried position
- 40 hours per week
- 2am starts, night shifts required from time-to-time
- Based at Currumbin Waters
- Reporting to the Operations Manager
