About the role
We are looking for a Specialist Production to provide specialist production support for Rail Inland Operations. Reporting to the Manager Inland Rail, you will use operational data, performance insights and improvement practices to support safe, reliable and efficient train service delivery. You will work with operations, maintenance, planning and network control teams to identify performance opportunities, coordinate investigations and strengthen production reporting and data quality.

What you’ll be doing
Reporting to the Manager Inland Rail and working across Rail Inland Operations, you will:
Monitor Inland Rail production, train service delivery, asset availability and operational performance outcomes.
Analyse production losses, delays, disruptions, utilisation and service performance trends to identify improvement opportunities.
Develop and maintain production reports, dashboards and insights for operational leaders, including daily, weekly and monthly performance reviews.
Coordinate investigations into production losses and operational inefficiencies, identify root causes and support corrective actions.
Support planning, forecasting and resource optimisation activities for Inland Rail operations.
Partner with operations, maintenance, planning and network control teams to improve throughput and service reliability.
Maintain data quality, reporting governance and consistent performance definitions across Inland Rail Operations.
Identify and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen safety, productivity and operational performance.

A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team.
Experience in rail operations, production analysis, operational planning or performance improvement in a safety-critical environment.
Strong analytical capability with the ability to interpret operational and production performance data.
Experience developing reports, dashboards, insights and performance review materials.
An understanding of train service delivery, network performance, operational planning and maintenance interfaces.
Experience coordinating investigations, identifying root causes and supporting practical corrective actions with operational stakeholders.
Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives across rail, mining, logistics or another complex operation.
Experience maintaining reporting governance, data quality and consistent performance definitions.
Knowledge of planning, forecasting, resource optimisation or the Rio Tinto Production System.
