As part of this team, Homelessness Outreach Specialists will connect with people wherever they are to provide practical assistance and help people to find stable housing with the additional supports they need.
We’re looking for people with great communication skills and an understanding of issues contributing to homelessness to fulfil these roles. You will need to be practical, flexible and have a high level of empathy.
The team will work outside standard business hours – 6am to 8pm, with some weekend shifts.

Role location: Slacks Creek
Role type: Permanent, full-time.
Pay range: $92,582 to $105,909 a year based on experience, with salary packaging exempt from Fringe Benefits Tax available.
In this role you will:

engage with people wherever they are, building trusting relationships
- assessing people’s needs to provide practical support to people experiencing homelessness to help them access crisis and long-term housing
- connecting rough sleepers with appropriate social service systems to achieve long-term change
- contribute to Logan Zero’s goal of ending rough sleeping in Logan through collaboration and advocacy.
About you
Aside from meeting the key capabilities outlined in the related role description available below, you’ll be a great fit if you:

are hands-on, practical and adaptable in responding to changing situations
- have experience in person-centred service delivery, preferably in homelessness or mental health services
- are passionate about supporting people experiencing homelessness
- have a deep understanding of the circumstances of people sleeping rough and effective ways to respond
- are resilient and adaptable, thriving in fast-paced, front-line environments
- can work flexible hours to ensure the outreach service can meet requirements for after-hours and weekend responses. The team will have staff working from 6am to 8pm weekdays and daytime hours on Saturday, with potential to add Sunday if demand emerges. You will need to be able to provide support across these periods.
