Doncaster East Preschool is a community run kindergarten which offers a supportive, positive and stimulating educational program for preschool age children. Managed by a volunteer Committee of Management, our qualified and experienced staff provide a play based program which promotes confidence, curiosity and cooperation.
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced, passionate and enthusiastic kindergarten teacher to join our dedicated teaching team at Doncaster East Preschool as the 3YO Kindergarten Teacher and Nominated Supervisor (optional) starting from Monday 10 August 2026 (negotiable). This part time role involves 22.5 hours as teacher (15 contact, 7.5 non-contact), plus optionally 3.5 hours as nominated supervisor, per week across 3 days. * Session times are: Mondays 8:30am-12:30pm, Tuesdays 8:30am-2pm and Thursdays 8:30am-2pm. * The successful candidate must be able to teach in a collaborative and cooperative manner and form positive partnership with children, families, staff and the wider community. The successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively with children, the Committee of Management, parents, staff and professionals. * The position is to work alongside two experienced and dedicated diploma qualified educators with our 3YO group of 25 children. * We require someone who has a strong emphasis on play based learning, sustainability within our daily practices, and is committed to providing a safe, supportive and inclusive environment for all children. * Whilst the position is to start on Monday 10 August 2026, we would welcome and encourage the successful candidate to attend 1 or 2 sessions the week prior for orientation and to begin building relationships with staff and children. The successful applicant **MUST:** * hold a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education or equivalent * Have full VIT Registration If also applying for the Nominated Supervisor role, the successful applicant **MUST**: * Have a strong understanding of compliance and centre operations * Be confident in managing staff and parent communications * Have a positive and proactive approach to leadership **The applicant must also hold and maintain an approved:** * first aid qualification including annual CPR renewal * emergency asthma management qualification * management of anaphylaxis qualification * Police Check * mandatory reporting certificate * Geccko Child Safety Training certificate in accordance with the Education and Care Services National Regulations and service policies
