An Experienced Kitchen Steward is responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in commercial kitchens while also supporting the kitchen team, training junior stewards, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Experienced Kitchen Steward Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and sanitize all kitchen equipment, utensils, crockery, cutlery, pots, and pans.
- Operate and maintain dishwashing machines and ensure they are functioning efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen floors, walls, storage rooms, refrigerators, freezers, and waste disposal areas.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety standards.
- Manage waste disposal and recycling according to company procedures.
- Receive, organize, and store deliveries following FIFO (First In, First Out) principles.
- Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies and report maintenance issues.
- Assist chefs with basic food preparation and kitchen setup when required.
- Train and guide junior stewards on cleaning procedures and safety practices.
- Support kitchen operations during busy service periods and special events.
Pay: $4,500.00 – $6,000.00 per month
