Holiday Hub is looking for a caring, enthusiastic and energetic OOSH Educator to join our team. This role is suited to someone who genuinely enjoys working with children, is active and creative, and wants to help create a fun, safe and welcoming environment for primary school-aged children.
The position will involve working across before school care, after school care and school holiday programs. Holiday periods are generally busier and include a range of exciting activities, incursions and excursions.
Key Responsibilities
As an OOSH Educator, you will be responsible for:
- Providing active supervision and care for children from Kindergarten to Year 6.
- Building positive, respectful and trusting relationships with children and families.
- Supporting children's wellbeing, safety and emotional regulation.
- Setting up and facilitating engaging activities, including:
- Arts and crafts
- Painting and creative activities
- Board games and group games
- Outdoor sports and physical activities
- Lego, construction and STEM activities
- Cooking and other hands-on experiences
- Being actively involved in children's play rather than simply supervising from the sidelines.
- Encouraging children to participate, try new things and develop new skills.
- Supporting children to make choices and have input into the program.
- Assisting with excursions and incursions during school holiday programs.
- Following all relevant policies, procedures, health and safety requirements.
- Maintaining appropriate supervision and child-to-educator ratios at all times.
- Supporting positive behaviour and respectful interactions between children.
- Communicating appropriately with families and other educators.
- Assisting with setting up and packing down activities and equipment.
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised environment, including general cleaning duties throughout the day.
- Cleaning rooms, bathrooms, outdoor areas, equipment and activity spaces as required.
- Completing other reasonable duties required to support the smooth operation of the service.
Curriculum & Programming
The successful applicant may also have the opportunity to assist with programming and curriculum planning.
This may include:
- Contributing ideas for the weekly program.
- Planning and implementing children's experiences.
- Observing children's interests and using these to develop activities.
- Reflecting on activities and children's engagement.
- Contributing to documentation and program reflections.
- Supporting the service's use of My Time, Our Place (MTOP).
Experience with OOSH programming is desirable but not essential, as training and support can be provided.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Current Working With Children Check.
- Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications, or willingness to obtain these.
- Understanding of child safety and mandatory reporting requirements.
- Previous experience working with children is highly desirable.
- OOSH, OSHC, childcare, teaching, coaching, recreation or similar experience is advantageous.
Hours of Work
The role will include:
Before School Care:
Morning shifts prior to school.
After School Care:
Afternoon shifts following school.
School Holidays:
Additional hours are available during school holiday programs, with opportunities to work full days and participate in excursions, incursions and special activities.
There may also be opportunities for additional administration, programming or other service-related hours depending on experience and the needs of the service.
Pay: $32.66 – $37.44 per hour
