About the Role
We are looking for an experienced, guest-focused Section Waiter to join our front-of-house team.
This role is suited to someone with at least 2 years of restaurant experience, ideally within premium dining or a high-quality, fast-paced venue.
You will confidently manage your own section, deliver attentive and personalised service, and guide guests through our food, wine and beverage offering. You will use your product knowledge and sales skills to make thoughtful recommendations, increase spend and enhance the overall guest experience.
We are looking for someone who can read a table, anticipate guest needs and recognise opportunities to recommend additional dishes, wine, drinks and desserts in a natural and engaging way.
Key Responsibilities
- Confidently manage your own section and deliver warm, attentive and professional service.
- Build strong knowledge of our food, beverage and wine menus and confidently guide guests through the offering.
- Drive sales through thoughtful recommendations, upselling and suggesting additional dishes, wine, drinks and desserts.
- Understand guest preferences and recommend food and beverages that genuinely enhance their dining experience.
- Monitor tables throughout service, anticipate guest needs and maintain a high standard of presentation and attention to detail.
- Take orders accurately and work closely with the kitchen, bar, host and floor team to ensure smooth service.
- Respond professionally to guest requests and feedback and process payments accurately.
- Support opening, closing and general restaurant duties while following RSA, food safety and WHS requirements.
About You
- 2+ years of experience as a waiter or section waiter, ideally in premium dining, casual fine dining or a high-quality full-service restaurant.
- Strong wine and food knowledge, with confidence making recommendations and discussing the menu with guests.
- A sales-focused mindset with the ability to upsell naturally while maintaining genuine, guest-focused service.
- Confident managing a busy section independently, with strong communication, attention to detail and a polished service style.
- Reliable and professional, with a current NSW RSA and availability to work nights and weekends.
Knowledge of Sri Lankan food is not essential — we will provide training and are looking for someone who is genuinely interested in learning our menu and concept.
