About the role
Based in Broken Hill, the Electrical Fitter will work within the dedicated electrical team, responsible for the maintenance, repair and improvement works on all electrical, instrumentation and control assets within the business. Essential Water infrastructure includes pumping stations, water & wastewater treatment plants, storage & reticulation systems, SCADA & telemetry networks.
Some key position responsibilities include:
Carry out planned and emergency maintenance on electric motors, electrical distribution systems, chemical dosing systems and other electrical equipment associated with the water and sewer networks.
Installation and commissioning of new electrical assets including distribution boards, electric motors, valve actuators, instrumentation devices and other fixed equipment
Undertake inspection, testing and calibration activities and complete reports as required on electrical assets to meet safety, regulatory and operational requirements
Carry out diagnosis and rectification of faults in complex process control systems at water and wastewater treatment plants
Timely and accurate completion of risk assessments, work orders and other related forms
Be available and participate in after-hours/weekend standby roster and overtime requirements

Skills/Experience
Proven diagnostic, problem solving and trouble shooting skills.
Sound knowledge and experience working with industrial electrical and electronic equipment including motors, variable speed drives, instrumentation, PLCs and SCADA systems.
Knowledge of high and low voltage switching and LOTO practices.
Ability to interpret electrical drawings.
Capable of using basic computer software and mobile applications including asset and maintenance management systems.
Required Qualifications
Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician or demonstrated capability through past employment experience and/or relevant qualifications.
Drivers Licence.
Qualified Supervisors Certificate.
WorkCover NSW Construction Induction Certificate (White Card).
