About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Lawyer (1–3 years PQE) to join our highly regarded Commercial – Corporate & Private Clients team.
Working closely with Partner Julia Tonkin, this role will focus on wills, estates and probate (including litigation), supporting a diverse client base including high net worth individuals and families, as well as privately owned businesses.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a contemporary, collaborative team and build your expertise in a practice that requires both technical excellence and strong interpersonal skills.
Key responsibilities include:
- Drafting a range of estate planning and succession documents, including wills, powers of attorney, guardianship documents and probate applications
- Assisting with estate administration and related legal matters
- Assisting with litigation matters
- Advising clients on wills, estates and succession planning in a clear and practical manner
- Supporting the management of client relationships, with a strong focus on service and responsiveness
About you
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- 1–3 years’ post-qualification experience in wills, estates and succession planning within a reputable law firm
- Litigation experience in the wills and estates space is preferred but not essential
- Well-developed drafting skills and strong attention to detail
- A sound understanding of trusts, superannuation, corporations law and company structures, and how these intersect with estate and succession planning
- A high level of emotional intelligence, with the ability to communicate sensitively and build trust with clients
- Strong analytical thinking and the ability to provide clear, practical advice
