Key Responsibilities
Lead greenfield BESS projects from feasibility studies and business cases through design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.
Manage project budgets, schedules, risks, and commercial outcomes.
Coordinate with engineering teams, utilities, equipment suppliers, consultants, and regulators.
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and electrical standards.
Support investment decisions by assessing project viability, returns, and strategic value.
Oversee integration of battery systems into electricity networks, including SCADA, protection systems, and grid connection requirements.
Typical Requirements
Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Experience managing energy, utilities, transmission, renewable, or BESS projects.
Knowledge of:
Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
Grid connections and substations
AEMO and DNSP processes
Project management and stakeholder engagement
Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage contractors and vendors.
