About the Role
As 2IC/Assistant Coordinator, you'll work closely with the Coordinator to lead a vibrant before and after school care program, stepping up to run the service confidently in their absence. You'll help shape engaging, age-appropriate programs, mentor a team of educators, and be a steady, familiar presence for the children and families who rely on the service every day.
You'll join a team that takes real pride in what they've built — one where children feel like they belong, families feel supported, and educators genuinely enjoy the work.
Your Responsibilities
- Support the Coordinator in the day-to-day running of the service
- Step up to lead the service confidently in the Coordinator's absence
- Mentor, guide, and support a team of educators
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate programs
- Implement curriculum in line with the My Time, Our Place framework
- Support children's wellbeing, routines, and development
- Build genuine relationships with children, families, and the community
- Maintain compliance, documentation, and high-quality practice
About You
- Certificate III, Diploma or Bachelors in early childhood
- Experience in OOSH, education, or childcare settings
- Natural leadership qualities — warm, organised, and reliable
- Current WWCC and First Aid, Asthma & Anaphylaxis certifications
- Current Child Protection training, or willingness to obtain
- A genuine passion for leading and inspiring a team
- Comfortable stepping up and taking initiative
